Below is a list of the scheduled seminars and events that will be part of the Central MN Horse and Pet Fest. Check back often as the list grows. We will be adding new information as new speakers and events are booked.
Bob and Ginger Johnson have been working with the public and their horses for more than 15 years. They are the creators of the popular "Common Horseman"clinics, which are held at their home facilities or can easily be brought to yours. Bob offers a practical training system that has proven to be effective for all disciplines of riding and any breed of horse. "The Common Horseman" method is easy to learn, affordable, and highly effective in " creating confidence in both horse and rider". Specializing in ground manners and desensitization, Bob shows you how to strengthen your bond and communication with your horse, creating a safer, calmer horse for whatever field of horsemanship you enjoy. For young and older riders alike, from backyard beginners to trail riders, to showing to mounted patrol groups, Bob's "Common Horseman" method can produce uncommon results, yielding a more trustworthy, willing and happier horse. CLINICS AND DEMOS (inside the building)
Rawhide performs target work with the bullwhip both on and off of horseback and also demonstrates many different types of whip popping, all using a ten foot bullwhip. He also spends time before the event, meeting and greeting the crowd, and performing trick roping.

Rawhide has been working with Dusty for many years, he began training Dusty when the horse was only six months old. Now Dusty loves entertaining the crowd. He will shake his head "yes", take a bow, lie down, and will also rare up on his hind legs; all to the amazement of the crowd. After this entertainment, Rawhide and Dusty will lope around the arena, performing different whip popping techniques. While on horseback, Rawhide will jump Dusty onto the back of the truck, and then jump him onto the top of the trailer. Once on top of the trailer, Dusty will perform on a teeter-totter. While Dusty is on top of the trailer, Rawhide stands up on the saddle and cracks his whip. When the show culminates, Rawhide and Dusty ride out of the arena on top of the trailer.

Rawhide and Dusty perform for Rodeo's, Fairs, Private Parties, Grand Openings, and Promotional Events.

"CUSTER THE TRICK CATTLE DOG"

We found Custer, a Cattle Dog mix as a 6 month old scared & hiding in the corner of a kennel at the Humane Society.  Now 4 years old, this smart little dog performs over 40+ tricks & loves to make you laugh.  He is a character.  A few of his famous tricks are catching a frisbee in air & returning it hooked on your foot, fetch a root-beer out of a cooler & bring it to you, catch a ball & place it in a bowl, play dead, crawl, give five, walk thru legs, jump trough a hoop, in your arms or on your back + much more including kisses & hugs.  One of his favorite tricks is riding or leading his favorite horse Kasanova.  Custer is a happily rescued dog & a true love for all to enjoy.
